 Quest launches mobile software. . . .
« Thread Started on Apr 9, 2007, 9:16pm »

Here is a press release from Quest Associates which might be of interest to anyone considering using their WAP enabled mobile phone to complete an EPC.

Quest Launches Q-Mobile EPC
Enables Assessors to Complete a Full Energy Performance Certificate on
WAP Mobile Phones

Quest Associates, leading supplier of IT solutions to the UK property sector, has today launched Q-Mobile EPC, a revolutionary new system that enables Domestic Energy Assessors and Home Inspectors to complete a full Energy Performance Certificate (EPC), quickly and securely via a wide range of WAP-enabled mobile phones.
Using WAP technology, Q-Mobile EPC eliminates the need for manual re-keying of the property data taken during an assessment and allows home inspectors to quickly capture the required information on a simple form that can be completed on any WAP-enabled mobile phone, including Blackberry’s. This is the first of its kind for the Home Information Pack sector and could help speed up the inspection process by as much as 50%.
Comments Tom Parker, managing director of Quest Associates: “We are extremely excited to launch Q-Mobile EPC, as we believe it will help bring about huge cost savings to energy assessors and inspectors. No specialised equipment or training is required, and the report can be quickly filled out and returned whilst on site, meaning more inspections can be undertaken per day. Plus, there are no set-up charges or expensive monthly fees for this system as it has been developed on a convenient ‘pay-as-you-go’ system.”

The Q-Mobile EPC technology also has direct access to the boiler efficiency database (www.sedbuk.com) meaning assessors can quickly locate each property’s boiler type from the comprehensive list and instantly incorporate the full specification directly into the EPC.
Quest will be demonstrating the Q-Mobile EPC system at the forthcoming AHIPP Conferences, on 16 and 18 April 2007 in Manchester and London.

Apparently, this software is what 'Habitus' will be using for there EPC's. some of you may also notice that a demo version of this software is also used on the 'Morgan Whittaker' training site.

sounds good in theory. however, i used the morgan whittaker training software and it was very frustrating indeed. full of bugs and whatever the opposite of 'user friendly' is. 'user unfriendly' i imagine! i hope they have sorted this out now. i would need proof of this before committing myself!

I had a few problems with the training software as well, but did hear off somebody else that they had included bugs so we couldnt use it to produce proper EPC's for ourselves? Dont know how true this is though.

sharock

No surprises there, I'm afraid.

Ravi and his Morgan Whittaker empire has a lot of shortcomings. Habitus and us have given him a lot of money but...........

The only way you will be able to put any pressure on Ravi is through Peter Dale when he gets back from his holidays next week.
